Hi and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday post! Iโm writing this post in advance, so whenever this post is published this list might have changed already. Still, I now have time and I want to avoid writing these posts last minute as much as I can. So todayโs Top Ten Tuesday post topic is: Books I Want To Read By New To Me Authors. I scrolled through my long TBR and I have to admit that itโs hard to just pick ten, because there are so many books by authors who I never read before. I also wanted to avoid adding books Iโve added in past lists, to keep a wider variety in my posts. That proved to be a challenge as I often shelve books by authors I in fact, did read before. Well, want to know which books and authors I picked? Keep reading!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
- Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman โ Whoops, my attempt of adding different books is failing already as this one is on my TBR for this summer. Oh well. I havenโt read anything by this author though!
- A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow โ I totally forgot about this bookโs existence until I saw it on another top Ten Tuesday post recently, I canโt remember whose post it was though. However, It has been on my TBR for ages and I havenโt read it.
- Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick โ Okay okay, I havenโt read this peak YA classic, so itโs time to read it. I never read anything by this author anyway.
- Finding Mr. Write by Kelley Armstrong โ You probably will be surprised when I tell you I havenโt read anything by this author yet, although The Darkest Powers is considered a YA classic when the genre was at its peak in the 2000s and 2010s.
- Twelve Kings in Sharakhai by Bradley P. Beaulieu โ This author seems to be beloved among fantasy lovers and whereas I love me a good romantic fantasy, I often donโt do well on high fantasy. However, there is lots of praise for both book and author alike, so I guess itโs time to find out whether this is deserved.
- Kin by Tayari Jones โ This author seems to be beloved by many, but I havenโt read any of Jonesโ books yet. So when Kin crossed my path and the blurb immediately spoke to me, I knew what I had to do. Put it on my TBR.
- Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver โ Another well-beloved author, whose books I havenโt read yet. However, this one is still on my TBR.
- The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel โ This book also has been on my TBR forever, but I havenโt read anything else by this author either.
- Mad Mabel by Sally Hepworth โ Iโve seen this author being mentioned a lot, but I never read one of her books. This one keeps demanding my attention, so itโs time to change that as soon as possible.
- Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sim โ Another book that was hyped, and another author that seems to be beloved. However, I havenโt read any of Simโs books, so I canโt judge at all.
What books by new to you authors do you hope to read in the foreseeable future?
