Hi and welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post! This week it’s time to curate our summer 2026 TBR and this topic comes not a moment too soon. In fact, actually a bit late as the weather just didn’t want to wait any longer. Since last Thursday we’re in the middle of a heatwave overhere that will probably last until at least Friday or Saturday. It’s rumored for temperatures to hit about 36º Celsius on Friday. Even though it’s to hot to read sometimes, I know there are cooler days ahead which gives us more opportunity to read and actually digest what we have read. So, let’s pick some books to read this summer, shall we?
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
- Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez – Recently I finally read Part of Your World and whereas I still have to write my review and I wasn’t fully convinced, this one gets so much praise I’m getting curious. Fun fact, I already pre-ordered its companion The Night We Met. I read the Dutch versions of these books, and this will be out next week.
- Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman – I’ve seen these books being mentioned a lot, but I never picked them up. I’m still unsure whether these are really my cup of tea, but again a translation is being published soon, so time to find out!
- The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai – This book has been on my TBR for a few months and it’s finally time to pick it up. I have been curious for this for a while now.
- Shadow Reaper by Lynette Noni – Back in 2021, I had a very pleasant time with the “Prison Healer” series by this author. I have seen this new book around, but forgot about it as quickly. Somehow, I remembered it enough to get myself a copy and now I want to read it as soon as possible.
- The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic – This is getting riducous as this book has been on my TBR for a longer while as well. I was really keen on reading it, but I haven’t picked it up. Time to change this I guess! Moreover, I already own the sequel.
- Wish Upon a K-Star by Kat Cho – A few months ago I listened to Once Upon a K-Prom and I had a surprisingly good time with this novel. As I will be leaving on holidays pretty soon, this companion novel seems to be a good fit.
- Boy Queen by George Lester – Holidays are notorious for my reading plans falling through, but this book has been on my TBR for years. It has been on my possibility pile for June, so it’s time to move it from my TBR to my “read” shelf, isn’t it?
- The Wind Weaver by Julie Johnson – This book has also been on my TBR since its release. However, I feel like romantasy is failing to capture me more and more, so this book has been pushed back a whole lot. However, I think it’s time to bring some changes to this, although I have been saying this for ages now.
- Heart The Lover by Lily King – Okay okay, this apparently is a Booktok hype I didn’t know existed, but I heard about this novel through Booktube when I actually watched someone’s channel. I wonder if this hype will work out for me, because my track record with hypes isn’t… that great to say the least.
- The Secret Book Society by Madeline Martin – I was so eager to read this book when it came out, but of course, I haven’t picked it up. Otherwise It wouldn’t be on this list, right?
So, what books do you hope to pick up this summer?
