It’s Tuesday and after being absent last week as I simply didn’t have the brain capacity to come up with an alternative topic nor bloghop, it’s time to get back into Top Ten Tuesday. This week’s topic is Bookish Wishes and I always skip these. But now however, it seems to be a good time to reflect on my Spring 2026 TBR. It will officially be summer next week and therefore we will be setting our summer TBR soon. So, how did I do this past season? Time to find out!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
- Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – I read this one back in April and I have to admit that I didn’t understand the author’s aim with this book. I was bored out of my mind. I’m writing this post in advance and I have 2 months worth of reviews to catch up on, so I’m not sure if I will ever review this book or not. I mean, I’m dreading writing 15+ reviews.
- Cleopatra by Saara El-Arifi – This is another book I’ve read, but not yet reviewed. And again, I’m not sure if I will do so, because it was just so-so for me. Not bad, but not indulging either.
- Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone – I tried to start this book in English, but I feel like I don’t have the headspace for English right now, so I’ll be awaiting the Dutch translation. I didn’t know this one was coming and apparently it published yesterday. So this book will be finished pretty soon.
- Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez – Yes guys, it finally happened, I finally read this book. However, I’m not fully convinced. It’s not too bad, but I just didn’t understand the hype. I hear from multiple readers this is their least favorite, so I will definitely give this author another chance.
- Very Bad Elite by Jane S. Wonda – Whoops, I forgot to pick up this book, completely unintentional though.
- Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood – Anbother book I totally forgot about.
- Rewind It Back by Liz Tomforde – Yes, I surely read this one. Although I enjoyed my time spent with this book, I didn’t find it groundbreaking by any means. It’s starting to all blend together and to follow the same pattern, it’s not refreshing anymore. Again, not bad and enjoyable, but I wasn’t fully surprised by it.
- The Corrospendent by Virginia Evans – This book didn’t meet my expectations. In fact, I was left pretty disappointed. I was able to put the book aside only to leave it there for a while, I was simply not interested enough. This wil or will not be reviewed soon.
- When the Cranes Fly South by Lisa Ridzén – Another book I’ve read, enjoyed, but haven’t written a review for yet. I just don’t know if I want to at this point. I lost my review mojo I think. It’s not bad, but again, I wasn’t fully captivated. I can’t pinpoint exactly why not.
- The South by Tash Aw – This book is one I just didn’t get to.
Okay, it’s not too bad at all in terms of reading, but it is in terms of reviewing. I’m so behind, it’s ridiculous. I’ve read 6 out of the 10 books I put on my TBR, and only reviewed 1 so far.
