It’s a new month for a few days already, but I hadn’t had the time to finalize my monthly TBR that was already sitting in my drafts. After putting these posts on hiatus for a few months, I returned them back in March. I was still a bit reluctant as I was in the mother of all reading slumps, but I felt energetic about my reading and blogging at the start of last month. However, this energy already faded a bit, especially blogging wise. I hope I’m not swapping the reading slump for a blogging one! Anyway, a new month means a new pile of hopefuls to read. I did fairly well on my March TBR, I only have 2 books left unread. In my defense, I had some pretty busy weeks at work and the books I left untouched are quite tense, and I simply wasn’t in the right headspace for them. So, let’s see what I am planning for April! Again, I use my “up next” queue on The Storygraph to curate this TBR. Click on the cover to go directly to the book page on Goodreads.
In the queue
I put Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid on my possibility pile for March, but I didn’t have the book then. Now I do, so I can finally pick it up in April. I’m definitely planning on doing so! I’ve heard a lot about this title already, so let’s see how I will enjoy it. It’s a hype after all.
Another book that was on my possibility pile for March, is everywhere and I bought a copy of in the end of the month, is Cleopatra by Saara El-Arifi. I tried The Final Strife by this author a few years ago, but didn’t really like it, to the point I had to DNF. I hope this reading experience will be different!
Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is one of last month’s leftovers. I just couldn’t handle the story, I think this is a challenging one I was just too tired for. Hopefully April will be the month I finally pick this one up!
Rewind It Back by Liz Tomforde is a book I’ve been eagerly anticipating. However, I didn’t get a copy until last month, so I can finally pick it up now!
The final one in the Queue is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronté, my second leftover from March. This is a classic, and I actually don’t read classics, so I wasn’t sure whether this would be the perfect fit considering the circumstances at that moment. Let’s hope I can knock it off in April!
My possibility pile
April is promising some nice spring weather, so that means time for romance! I have some books I really hope to be able to squeeze in:
- Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez
- Wildfire by Hannah Grace
- Rose in Chains by Julie Soto
What books do you hope to read in April?
