WWW Wednesday | 03/25/2026

It’s Wednesday once again and that means another weekly reading check in! This week was still quite productive, but it also took me a bit more time to finish some books. Again, too many commitments and therefore too little time. But what books did I manage to read? And what am I currently reading? And last but not least, what will my next read be? Let’s have a look!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?

What are you currently reading?

Currently I’m reading a Dutch historical fiction that I put on both my Winter 2025 and March TBR. It’s the final installment in a trilogy centered around a rich family and their estate. All these books are easy to digest and as I have some busier times at work now, I find myself needing these kind of books. For the Dutch speaking people who read my blog, this one is called James’ geheim and is written by Marijke Vos. However, you’ll get most enjoyment out of this series when you read them in order.

What did you recently finish reading?

In last week’s post I told you guys that I was reading Salaam, With Love by Sara Sharaf Beg. At that point I already hit the halfway mark, to finally finish it over the weekend. I was so busy on Tursday and so tired after that I simply didn’t feel like reading at all. This book has been on my TBR since like 2021 or 2022, so it was about time.

Next up was another book that had been on my TBR since 2021: The Last Rose of Shanghai by Weina Dai Randel. This book piqued my interest straight away when I read the blurb, but it took me till now to actually pick it up. It’s set in Shanghai, during WWII and the Japanese occupasion. Pretty interesting as I haven’t read books about his particular part of this world in this time period in history whereas most books tend to heavily focus on Europe. Despite its flaws, I had an enjoyable reading experience. More to come ASAP.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I know I still have two books left on my March TBR, but I’m not sure if I want to read these right now. They both can be pretty intense and I’m not sure if I’m in the right headspace for that at the moment. They are Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronté respectively. However, I want to read something different from historical fiction, as I read two of them back-to-back by accident. I am a bit indecisive, but hey, what’s new? To be continued!
