Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter 2025 TBR

It’s Tuesday and that means time for another Top Ten Tuesday post! This Sunday it will be winter solstice, so that means that winter is officially starting. We will have the shortest day of the year, and the days are only lengthening after. Soon we’ll be having more daylight once again, yay! But before this happens, we still have a few months of winter to deal with, and what better way to do this with a seasonal TBR? Exactly, there is none. Once again, I will be listing 10 books I hope to read this upcoming season, but who knows what my mood decides! 😂 I absolutely hate Christmas books, so you won’t find them here.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

  1. The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst – Okay okay, I’m not usually one for seasonal books, but I’ve heard this book has nice wintry vibes. Furthermore, it’s chosen as book of the month in a Discord server, so I have nothing to lose here. I haven’t read The Spellshop though, but I believe that wouldn’t really matter as it’s just set in the same world and not a direct sequel.
  2. Enter Ghost by Isabella Hammad – I have been meaning to read this book for months now, so I decided to take this with me from my fall TBR. In fall, I had a major reading slump where I prioritized other books than stories about Gaza.
  3. Very Bad Elite by Jane S. Wonda – I recently read Very Bad Kings, the first book in this “Kingston University” series. The ending and actually the entire game makes me curious for more. Furthermore, it’s such a fast read, although it’s not in my usual genre. Unlike the previous book, this one hasn’t been translated to English yet, only available in German (original language) and Dutch.
  4. Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli – I meant to read this book months ago, but I finally got a copy. So, let’s go!
  5. The Alice Network by Kate Quinn – Another book I’ve been meaning to read for forever. I’ve seen so many positive reviews about it, but I just never picked it up. Time to change this I believe!
  6. James’ geheim by Marijke Vos – This is the final book in a Dutch historical fiction trilogy. I absolutely enjoyed the previous books, but I just don’t finish this series. And I have no reason as to why not.
  7. De zus van de chocolatier by Rebekka Eder – Okay, too many historical fiction books probably, as this is yet another one. This hasn’t been translated into English and is originally German. Another series I leave unfinished for too long, even though I enjoyed the previous book. This is the final one.
  8. Graduation Day by Joelle Charbonneau – I’m so bad in finishing series, because I also need to read this third and final novel in the “The Testing” trilogy. I read the first book in 2021, the second in 2024 and now it’s time to finish this series.
  9. Wildfire by Hannah Grace – It seems that I have the ambitious goal this winter to continue series, because this is the second book in the “Maple Hills” series. Admittedly, I wasn’t fully convinced by Icebreaker, but I still want to give it a try. Moreover, I notice myself growing out of college romances more and more.
  10. A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross – I added this book to my TBR years ago and I actually forgot about it. However, it still piqued my interest and I finally own a copy. The premise sounds really atmospheric, so I believe this is the perfect time for this book.

Have you read any of these books? What books will be on your TBR this winter?

  1. My daughter loved The Alice Network and keeps urging me to read it Guess I should since I like the authors other books I’ve read.

  2. I like a seasonal read, but rarely find time to actually read one! I love Christmas but hate New Year.

    Have a great week!

    1. I don’t hate Christmas, but Christmas media is not for me. I don’t care for NYE either. The fireworks scare me, I can’t leave the house all day.

      1. Fair enough. Bless you. In our area we have fireworks going off around firework dates so for bonfire night on 5th November we have people having fireworks around that date ie the weekend before or after that date.

  3. In contrast it’s Summer for me in Australia so we have plenty of light. Thanks for sharing your #TTT

  4. The Alice Network was the first book I read by Quinn and it was the start of a brilliant journey for me.

  5. Yay for longer days! Although I work nights so the downside of shorter days is that in the summer I come home when it’s just starting to get light.

I haven’t read any of these. I hope you like them!

  6. I enjoyed reading The Alice Network. I hope that you enjoy reading all of these when the mood presents itself.

  7. Enter Ghost sounds like a good read.

  8. The Enchanted Greenhouse sounds interesting! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

  9. I had The Alice Network on my TBR for ages as well!

  10. I’ve been meaning to read Kate Quinn for so long! I have 2 of her books and everyone keeps telling me how amazing she is.

  11. A River Enchanted is one that I really want to read. I loved her other series! Rebel Witch is so good. I hope you enjoy all of these. Happy reading!

  12. I almost picked up A River Enchanted last month, but got sidetracked. Hope you are able to pick up all of these!

  13. I’ve wanted to read The Alice Network. I can’t wait for longer days but winter is definitely nice cozy reading time. Happy reading!

  14. I can’t wait for the days to start getting longer again either!

  15. We read THE ALICE NETWORK for book club a few months ago and I just couldn’t get all the way through it. Maybe it just wasn’t the right time or the right book for me because I love historical fiction, but that one wasn’t working well for me. I hope it goes better for you. Enjoy your winter reading, whatever it ends up looking like!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  17. THe only one here that I’ve read is The Enchanted Greenhouse… and honestly, I didn’t love it nearly as much as the first book, but I know a lot of people thought it was terrific. Hope you enjoy your winter reading!

  18. I hope you enjoy anything you get to! I haven’t read any of these, but re: Rebel Witch – it’s such a good feeling when you finally get your hands on a book for a tactile reminder of how excited you are to start.
