It has been a while since I recapped my reading week by doing WWW Wednesday, mainly due to my holidays. But I’m back, so now it’s the time to try and be more consistent with it once again. What am I reading, have I finished reading and will I be reading next? Let’s take a look!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?
What are you currently reading?
It’s that kind of WWW Wednesday once again where I just finished a book last night. I therefore am in between books and am currently reading nothing as a result.
What did you recently finish reading?
Okay I didn’t read much last week, even though I was still off work. I always plan to read a lot in such weeks, but actually hardly pick anything up. I just lost my reading mojo a bit. However, I did finish two books. Firstly, I read Semi Well Adjusted: Despite Literally Everything by Alyson Stoner. As this is nonfiction, this probably won’t get a review, but definitely no rating. It feels unfair to me to rate nonfiction, especially memoirs.
The second book I finished is The Most Secret Memory off Men by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr. This one has been sitting on my TBR for a good while and felt pretty intimidating at first. People called it a challenging book, which made me approach it with some reluctance. And it was challenging indeed, but of the good kind. The first part was a bit tough, but once I finally got into the story I just couldn’t put it down. I wanted to find out how this story unfolds. My review will be up soon, but this is a novel that’s proving a bit challenging to review without giving too much away. It’s not popular on Booktok – thankfully – and I definitely can see why. And that’s exactly why I had such a good time with it.
What do you think you’ll read next?
There are two books on my September TBR I still need to finish, but I’m not sure if I’m in the mood for any of them as these are quite popular Booktok books. Yes, I’m sorry. I’m talking about Elise Kova’s Arcana Academy and Julie Johnson’s The Wind Weaver. I might switch genres once again, but I also enjoyed my literary fiction fix I have been having lately. So, to be continued as always!
How has your reading week been?
