It’s Wednesday yet again and whereas I actually planned a review for today, I didn’t get to write it. It’s too hot to think as summer is SO back, so I better leave it for one day to look back on it tomorrow with hopefully a fresher mind. But, Wednesday is the day to look back on our past reading week and to be honest, that was again a whirlwind.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?
What are you currently reading?
Currently I’m in between books, so I’m reading nothing at the moment. It’s cooling down a bit now here, so I might go outside for a bit and pick a book, so this answer might be different when this post is published.
What did you recently finish reading?
Last week I finished 3 books, and they were all from my August TBR. I started the week by finishing The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith. It was this review that I hoped to put up today, but I didn’t. I’m not sure what to think of this book. I found the pacing nice, not too slow and not too fast. I would say it’s medium paced. However, the characters don’t stick with me, even though they are elaborated in depth. The story falls kind of flat until the final part where all the schemes come in. I have to make up my mind really before I’m able to publish my review.
This book was followed by Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab. My main struggle with books by this author is that I love the writing, but don’t connect to either characters or plot. This was the case here as well. Again, a review I have to carefully think of before publishing.
I finished the week by finishing Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I definitely can’t put this review up now as I really have to order my thoughts. They are all over the place, which is good, so this one needs to be structured in my head before I put it on screen. The ending made me so mad OMG!
What do you think you’ll read next?
I have several options once again:
- Here We Go Again by Alison Cochrun (from my August TBR);
- If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales (from my August TBR);
- The Wind Weaver by Julie Johnson (from the possibility pile);
- The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig (from the possibility pile);
- Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa (from the possibility pile);
- Or going very, very rogue and pick what my mood dictates.
To be continued!
