We’re well into this week’s Wednesday already, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to look back on the past week in books. This post has been a lot later than anticipated, but I just couldn’t sit down and write it last night. Well, how has my week in books been?
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?
What are you currently reading?
Currently, I’m reading Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. I started it late on Sunday evening, because somehow I still barely pick up a book during the weekend. I absolutely enjoy it! I don’t want to devour it, I just want to savor it. I’m 60% in now, so I think I’ll finish it later today or tomorrow eventually.
What did you recently finish reading?
Recently, I’ve finished multiple books. Firstly, I finished The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan on Wednesday. My review of this third book in the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series will be up tomorrow. It’s not bad, but I just can’t give it more than 3 stars.
Secondly, I read and finished Quicksilver by Callie Hart on Friday night. This review will be up on Saturday, but I was a tad disappointed. Or actually, more than a tad. Somehow, the writing style provides an easy read, but at the same time, there’s so much lacking in this book. The characters and world building are underdeveloped and therefore it was hard for me to feel the intrigue or to get invested in the romance. In my opinion, this book is quite overhyped. More on Saturday!
Lastly, I finished a Dutch book, Red Flags by Robin Venn. It was fine, a bit too much over the top I guess. It’s nothing more than an in-betweener.
What do you think you’ll read next?
What will I be reading next? The toughest question of this meme. I still have several books in my “up next” queue on The Storygraph. I’m not sure which one to pick up and whether I can finish said book this month or not. I have another fantasy, a romance and a dystopian waiting for me, alongside so many others on my TBR. Oh well, let’s just doubt some more!
