It’s Wednesday once again, and that means it’s time for another weekly reading recap! Whereas I was very productive in my reading last week, this week I was struggling a lot. I hope this is not the harbinger for a new reading slump, but I think it had to do with the busy, busy week I had and the weather being colder again. There was no room for sitting outside and read in the sun, let’s hope this will be possible once again over the weekend. It gives my reading an instant boost!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?
What are you currently reading?
Once this post has been published, I’ll probably be reading Quicksilver by Callie Heart. I have been putting off reading this book for way too long now. However, it’s nearly 9:30PM now and I wonder how much I will manage to read before falling asleep since my alarm rang at 5:30AM for an early morning gym session. I already marked this book as “Currently reading”, so I have no excuses anymore to neglect it once again.
Besides, I’m reading The Titan’s Curse, the third book in the “Percy Jackson” series by Rick Riordan. I read the previous book in 2021, so it has been a while! I didn’t notice it in any way, because it was easy for me to get back into the story right from the start. It’s great for the younger readers, but I’m not so thrilled to be honest. I mean, it’s definitely not bad, but I’m not sure whether I want to read everything in this universe.
What did you recently finish reading?
Last week, I told you I was heavily struggling with Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao. It was not as action-packed as Iron Widow. It was pretty dull in fact. This dull even that I decided to DNF it to avoid a reading slump. Picking up this book started to feel like a chore, and you know it’s time to put it aside when this happens. It’s a pity as this was one of my anticipated winter 2024 releases.
I then decided to pick up Deep End by Ali Hazelwood, an author whose books I have a love hate relationship with. I have read just 1 book I liked, the others not so much. This one however was something totally different, but I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be reviewing this book shortly.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I still have some books on my March TBR I didn’t even think about yet, so I “should” pick up one of these. I think I will go with Dragon Rider by Taran Matharu then. But Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins is staring at me… Oh, the struggles!
What book do you think I have to pick up next?
