It has been a while since I last took part in Top 5 Tuesday, but this week’s topic really looks fun, so I decided to jump back in! This week, it’s time to dig through the books with a pronoun in the title, a challenging topic I believe so. However, I think I found some good ones!
Top 5 Tuesday is created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and is now hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads. Each Tuesday, participants share 5 books that fit the assigned topic for the week. There’s a Link-Up where participants share their link so others could visit and react!
1. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Honestly, this was the first book that came to mind when I saw this prompt. I read this right before the movie came out in like 2016 I believe and was really intrigued by this story. It’s such an emotional one, something I’d never expected before picking this up. However, let’s forget the two (!) sequels exist, shall we? They ruin this novel. I’ve tried to read them, but nope.
2. You by Caroline Kepnes
Admittedly, I haven’t read this book, but I tried to watch the Netflix series. Unfortunately, I was so bored I had to quit quite soon.
3. We Are Displaced by Malala Yousafzai
This is a collection of stories about girls who have been displaced from their homeland due to multiple reasons. I read this book in one sitting and hosted an online book club on a Dutch bookish platform. It turned out that this book is not suitable for a book club, because of the format and the fact this is a collection of stories. Coming up with questions was so hard.
4. She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
I really wanted to have loved this book, but I simply did not. I was lost and confused for nearly the entire story and had no idea what this was all about and what happened. I know this is a beloved novel, so you might enjoy it.
If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin
A book from my TBR for a change! This is highly popular, so I’m really curious whether I would like it or not. It’s romance, so I think I will.
If you think of books with a pronoun in the title, which one comes to mind first?
