Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Never Reviewed On This Blog

Itโ€™s Tuesday once again and welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This weekโ€™s topic is kind of tough for me, because I had several blogs on and off. Itโ€™s therefore quite hard to figure out which books Iโ€™ve reviewed in the past and which ones I havenโ€™t, because I hardly cross posted these reviews. Same applies to Instagram, Iโ€™m very, very inconsistent on this app so I canโ€™t keep up with what books I have and havenโ€™t reviewed. I therefore tweaked this weekโ€™s topic a little bit to books I never reviewed on this blog, since this one is alive since June 2022. I still stray away from reviewing certain genres like nonfiction, these books are a nightmare to review and moreover, these often are real peopleโ€™s stories. So why should I review them? Without further ado, here are 10 books I never reviewed on this blog!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

  1. Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch โ€“ I read this book in 2020, and I think I was in-between blogs at that time. Or I was lost with one of them. I canโ€™t remember, but at the time I loved the book. It was in the hightsth of the pandemic, and we had beautiful weather from like March to September, so this book perfectly fit that weather.
  2. Warcross by Marie Lu โ€“ I remember finishing this book before I had this blog, I think it was even before the pandemic. I definitely enjoyed it at the time, but I didnโ€™t like the sequel that much. Maybe I left too long in between both books.
  3. Legend by Marie Lu โ€“ I have the worst timing for reading this book, because this was definitely a pandemic read. I didnโ€™t review it, and I havenโ€™t continued the series even though I want to.
  4. The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau โ€“ I read and reviewed Independent Study last year, but I read this one way before that. I therefore didnโ€™t review it on this blog.
  5. The Hunger Games (and its prequels and sequels) by Suzanne Collins โ€“ Iโ€™m not sure why my mind only comes up with pandemic reads, but I binged this series during the first Covid lockdown.
  6. Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart โ€“ This book was a bit tough at the start, but once I got intrigued by it, I couldnโ€™t put it down. However, I didnโ€™t have this blog back in 2021, so no review from me.
  7. Circe by Madeline Miller โ€“ This book got me out of a reading slump, but I havenโ€™t reviewed it on here. I wonder if I ever did.
  8. Atalanta by Jennifer Saint โ€“ One of my more recent reads (2023), but I didnโ€™t know what to say about this novel, so I didnโ€™t create a blog post for it. I remember not particularly liking it though.
  9. Swimming in the Dark by Tomรกsz Jedrowski โ€“ I read this book in 2022, a few months prior to this blog. I enjoyed the story, but didnโ€™t like the narration at all.
  10. To Italy, With Love by Nicky Pellegrino โ€“ This is an inbetweener, a perfect summer read. I hardly review this kind of books because I donโ€™t have to say enough about them. In my opinion, itโ€™s not worth a review on my blog if I have not much to say about a book.

What (kind of) books have you never reviewed?

  1. Great job on this topic – I skipped it because it was a hard topic! lol

  2. I loved Circe, too. It really was a perfect book to read during the dark days of the pandemic.

    1. Actually, I read it before, I read the song of Achilles during that time.

  3. Iโ€™ve never reviewed The Hunger Games either.

  4. I loved Circe as well but I reviewed it!๐Ÿ˜‚

  5. this is a great idea! i often get so wrapped up reading that i dont review.

  6. I read and enjoyed The Hunger Games books. I agree, nonfiction is hard to review and so is poetry.

  7. I didn’t like Atalanta either!

  8. Iโ€™ve never reviewed Hunger Games either! (Pre blogging days) And I loved it!

  9. Warcross was fun! I keep meaning to read the sequel.

  10. I just read Legend and I have a copy of Warcross next. I’m very bad about putting reviews on my blog, especially if they are short ones. I hope to remedy that this year.

  11. Nonfiction is hard to review, I agree, especially if it’s a memoir. So of course that’s what I focused on this week. All those nonfiction books I didn’t review when I read them. I’m counting today as my finally reviewing them, however briefly. Haha.

As for your great list . . . I see a few titles I really enjoyed. Warcoss! I never did continue with the next book, even though I meant to. I have so much love for Circe. The Hunger Games! I remember reading those. My husband tried the trilogy too, but he didn’t care for it. I liked it though.

  12. I also did a lot of reading during the pandemic, although my choices were very different. Other than The Hunger Games, these are all new to me. Thanks for sharing!

  13. I haven’t read any of these books. But I have heard of many of them, thanks mainly to the pandemic and my increased time watching BookTube.

  14. The pandemic is such a weird time in our life! I read Legend a few years ago and haven’t continued it.

  15. LOVE & GELATO is a fun book. I listened to it on audio and really enjoyed it.

    Happy TTT!

  16. I also remember enjoying Warcross but being disappointed by the sequel. I hope to read Love and Gelato some day soon.

  17. I think im the same with the Marie Lu books, although I remember I really enjoyed Warcross!

  18. There’s a few on your list I might have read before I was blogging and didn’t review either. It’s fun to look and see which ones we loved but for some reason didn’t get reviews posted.

  19. I need to read Circe, it has been on my shelf for awhile. I read Achilles and it pretty much gutted me so I took a break from Mythology and haven’t gotten back to it.

  20. I really want to read Love & Gelato, it seemed like such a cute series.

I still haven’t read Atalanta. I keep meaning to!

  21. I loved Circe too, but I am pretty sure I never reviewed it!

  22. You know, I really enjoyed Warcross. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier.

  23. I totally understand what you mean about Warcross. I felt the same: book one was cool but book two disappointed me. I know that can affect my perspective of the whole series.

  24. I have not read any of these. I also read a lot during the pandemic, but I do anyway, LOL! Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday.

  25. I read The Hunger Games years before I was a blogger and wouldn’t even know where to start with a review now! Great post.

  26. I think most of the books that would meet this prompt for me were probably pre blog – so quite a lot of books really! I should have done this TTT.

  27. Lots of oldies but goodies here. I don’t think I ever reviewed The Hunger Games books. I can’t recall if I read it before I started blogging though.
