It’s Tuesday once again and Christmas is fast approaching. I will be working until the 24th before I’m off till January 6th. On Saturday, the shortest day of the year will already be here, which means winter is in full swing. And what’s better than to create a TBR for these darker months of the year? That’s exactly what we’ll be doing for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. My TBR consists of some new books, some old books, and some leftovers from my fall TBR. So, let’s take a look!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
- Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano – Back in October, I’ve read When the World Tips Over by Jandy Nelson and in the online book club some people suggested to read this book. I’ve read Dear Edward by this author a few years ago and I admittedly was a bit underwhelmed. The blurb for this novel still made me curious, so it’s in my “Up next” queue on The Storygraph. So I trust myself to pick this one up rather sooner than later!
- The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré – Guess who’s back, back again… Yes, but now I’ve added it to my “up next” queue on the Storygraph, so I have no excuses to not pick it up anymore.
- The Songbird & the Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent – A fall leftover because I ran out of time. This is also in my “up next” queue.
- Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan – Another one in my “Up next” queue. I have my eyes on this book for years, but never got myself a copy until recently.
- Tale of the Heart Queen by Nisha J. Tuli – Another fall leftover and one I want to pic up very, very soon.
- The Most Secret Memory of Men by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr – A very, very challenging book in terms of storytelling and I always like those at the start of the year, so what better time to pick this one up.
- A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson – A shiny new 2025 release and this sounds super interesting.
- The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi – A backlist book I’m taking with me from my 2024 backlist books challenge.
- Heir by Sabaa Tahir – I’ve been hearing so many good things about this book and I already have the audiobook, so let’s go.
- Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett – I believe these books work best in winter, so I have to read it right?
These are 10 books I want to read this winter and I’m really looking forward to them. Which books do you hope to read?
