WWW Wednesday | 11/20/2024

It’s Wednesday again, so time for yet another weekly recap. This time around: a book I finally started, two books I finished and a book I keep postponing.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?

What are you currently reading?

Yes guys, it’s FINALLY happening, I’m reading Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. I know I know, it has been years, but here I am, jumping on the bandwagon. So far, it’s an enjoyable read. I decided to go with the Dutch version that got published 2 weeks ago, I thought it was a tad easier for me. I think I made the right decision. The second book is out in April 2025 already, so that’s nice.

What did you recently finish reading?

Last week I finally managed to get Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver out of my way, I really dislike that book. I give 1 star ratings on rare occasions, but it happened twice in a span of a few weeks now. On the other hand, I read and finished Slaying the Vampire Conqueror by Carissa Broadbent which I thoroughly enjoyed.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I was thinking about Fate of the Sun King by Nisha J. Tuli yet again, but I might also pick up a romance for a change. I’ve been reading a bunch of fantasy books back-to-back and I want to avoid a genre bore-out, or even burnout, at all costs.
