It’s Wednesday and that means that yet another reading week has come and gone. I actually managed to finish something, but did I like it? Keep reading if you would like to get that question answered.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?

What are you currently reading?

Technically, I’m still reading Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver, but I’m absolutely hating this novel with every fiber in my being. If it wasn’t for a book club, I would have DNF’ed this one long ago. And maybe I will still do this anyway. This is so bad in every aspect, it’s insufferable. The narration is terrific though, the narrators really bring this book to life. It’s a bit like graphic audio but done differently.

Furthermore, I started Slaying the Vampire Conqueror by Carissa Broadbent last night. I desperately need a book I will enjoy, and I expect this one to do the trick.

What did you recently finish reading?

I finally finished Born of Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout. That book could have been at least 300 pages shorter. I found it way too long and therefore couldn’t enjoy it. The pacing was way too slow, nothing happens. It’s more of a smut fest than an actual story and the characters made themselves impossible. I’m glad this series is done.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I still think Fate of the Sun King by Nisha J. Tuli, but that’s what I said last week as well.

How has your week been?

  1. Butcher and Blackbird got soooo popular, but for some reason, I am not sure it is something I would enjoy. Do not push yourself to finish it if you’re not having fun!
I am so curious about Broadbent’s books, they’re everywhere! Artefacts of Ouranos also sounds really good!

  2. LOL! I adored Butcher & Blackbird. But we do agree on the fantastic top notch narration of the book! Hope you better enjoy whatever you pick up next.
