The weeks fly by and that means that itโs Tuesday yet again. This of course means time for another Top Ten Tuesday post! This weekโs topic is brought to you by Rachel @ Sunny Side, who chose it for a freebie last year. Now itโs made into an official topic and it is: Books with Destinations in the Title (Real or Fictional!). I thought this would be hard, but I think I came up with a solid amount of books. Not all destinations are relaxing and joyful, I wanted to be a bit more challenging this week so I included some heart-wrenching novels today.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
- The Island Home by Libby Page โ This book was okay in my opinion, not spectacular and actually quite forgettable.
- The Light of Luna Park by Addison Armstrong โ Please beware the triggers before you start reading it, because this novel can be quite upsetting. However, I couldnโt put it down, which is usually the case for me with novels like these.
- The Memory Keeper of Kyiv by Erin Litteken โ Another challenging novel that was hard for me to put down.
- The Dress Maker of Khair Khana by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon โ I still need to read this book, this has been on my TBR for years now.
- Swallows of Kabul by Yasmina Khadra (translated by John Cullen) โ Another book that has been on my TBR for years now and I honestly need to prioritize. I donโt have it yet though.
- The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali โ I just discovered this novel when writing this post and Iโm definitely curious. I read Kamaliโs The Stationary Shop and Together Tea and was engrossed in both stories.
- The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri โ Yet another challenging novel, about the war in Syria.
- I See London, I See France by Sarah Mlynowski โ Do you want to read something lighter? This book might be for you. Personally, I found this too lighthearted.
- While Paris Slept by Ruth Druart โ A WOII novel I still need to read, but Iโve read tons of them lately so I needed a bit of a break.
- Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa โ A destination no one hopes to ever go to, a refugee camp. I still need to get my hands on this book.
Have you read any of these books or would you like to read any of these?
