Top 5 Tuesday: Books On My TBR That Intimidate Me

I haven’t been taking part in Top 5 Tuesday for the past few weeks, because the topics didn’t speak to me, and I was too busy to write these post. This week however, the topic speaks to me. This week’s topic is Books on my TBR that intimidate me.

Top 5 Tuesday is created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm and is now hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads. Each Tuesday, participants share 5 books that fit the assigned topic for the week. There’s a Link-Up where participants share their link so others could visit and react!

  1. The Most Secret memory of Men by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr – This is one of my most recent additions to the TBR, but I’ve heard it’s a book that might take blood, sweat and tears to get through. This because of the way of storytelling.
  2. Aurora’s End by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman – It has been years since I’ve read the previous book in this series, will I be able to remember what happened? And more important, does this still resonate with me as a reader? I have the audiobook since its release in 2021.
  3. Twelve Kings in Sharakhai by Bradley P. Beaulieu – I love fantasy but am more of a romantasy reader. I wonder if this book is something for me, or if it’s a bit slow-paced.
  4. Without Merit by Colleen Hoover – I got this book as a present but I’m moving away from this author. Plus, I haven’t heard great things about this novel.
  5. Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree – Cozy books are a hit or – more often – a miss for me and I couldn’t get through this book the first time around.

What books on your TBR intimidate you?

  1. I haven’t gotten to Legends & Lattes either because same, cozy is a hit or miss for me. Definitely have to be in the mood for it.

  2. I can see that you like very different books than me. I don’t often read fantasy or romantasy books – not sure what romantasy books are. So, I can understand why my TBR books don’t sound like your cup of tea.

  3. Sounds good. I don’t take part every week, either, just don’t have enough time. But this one, I wouldn’t even know what to use for the list. Well done.
