It’s Tuesday again and after taking a little break last week, I’m back with another Top Ten Tuesday list. However, I’ve gone rogue once again, as the original topic is not interesting for you guys. The original topic is Books I Was Assigned to Read in School. However, most of my school reading material was Dutch, originally Dutch even. Of course we read a bunch of books for English, German and French, but there was not much choice and I can’t for the life of me remember them. Also, this topic instantly gives me the ick because I truly hated reading for school, it put me in a reading slump it took me nearly 7 years to recover from. I still avoid the classics and nonfiction for this exact reason. So, as fall is in full swing and I’ve spotted lots of fallen leaves already, I thought it would be nice to provide a random list with books giving fall vibes. The weather is not making up its mind though, as temperatures might again hit 22 degrees Celsius tomorrrow and Thursday, whereas it was just around 13 degrees the past couple of days. Anyway, here are ten books that gave me fall vibes!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
- The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – I always think of spooky season when thinking of highly spiritual books, so this one can’t be missed on such a list.
- Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree – H the pastries!
- Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas – This book takes place around Dia de los Muertos so on November 1 and it gives off incredible fall vibes.
- The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore – The title says it all.
- One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig – The story doesn’t even take place during fall, but the atmosphere is so dark and gloomy it really gives off such vibes.
- All the Harry Potter books – I know I know, she who must not be named… But the movies aren’t on tv during the darker months for nothing, are they? This entire series gives off fall vibes to me.
- The Monster in the Holly Library by K.A. Linde – Again, this blurb sounds so grimm, it has to be a fall read.
- New Moon by Stephenie Meyer – Technically this doesn’t even take place during fall, but it still gives me those vibes because of the entire atmosphere this storiy is breathing.
- City of Ghosts by V.E. Schwab – This takes place during summer, but it’s a ghost story so therefore fits fall perfectly.
- Salem’s Lot by Stephen King – Do I need to say more? Many of King’s books fit this prompt though, but I haven’t read them.
What book gives you all the fall vibes?
