It has been a while since I participated in WWW Wednesday, but why not this week? I think I have some… quite interesting reads to showcase.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?
What are you currently reading?
Currently I’m reading If We Were Villains by J.L. Rio. I’ve seen this book around for more than 5 years and you either hate it or love it. However, because of the amount of Shakespearean language, I didn’t trust my language skills to read this book in English. Earlier this year, the Dutch version got published so this was my cue to pick it up. So far, I have no idea what side I’m on, the lovers or haters. It’s definitely the strangest book I’ve been reading lately.
What did you recently finish reading?
This week I’ve been reading two books. Last week I finished Everything We Never Said by Sloan Harlow, a thriller that hasn’t been so thrilling. It was okay, but not as nerve-wrecking as you might expect from a thriller. It’s definitely interesting for the target audience, which is the YA crowd. Secondly, I read and finished Somewhere Beyond the Sea, the new novel by T.J. Klune and the follow-up to the huge success that was The House in the Cerulean Sea. Although it’s not bad at all, I wasn’t really vibing with it. My review will be up tomorrow. It’s unfortunate I haven’t seen lots of buzz about it, especially since the first book in this cycle was a huge success.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m not sure what I want to pick up next. I’m considering The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, but I might need a palate cleanser after a few books I’ve averagely enjoyed. They were not bad, but not that good either.
