It’s Friday and that means it’s time for yet another Let’s Talk Bookish post. This one is somewhat late, because I was revamping my blog amongst other things and therefore I was SO tired last night. Anyway, let’s talk about mood reading, as that’s the topic for this week.
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme that was originally created and hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books starting in August 2019, and was then cohosted by Dani @ Literary Lion from May 2020 to March 2022. Since April 2022, the meme moved to another host, Aria @ Book Nook Bits. Let’s Talk Bookish is a meme where participants discuss certain topics, share their opinions, and share their love by visiting each other’s posts.
Prompts: Do you consider yourself a mood reader? Are you constantly switching books and genres depending on your mood? Or do you always stick to a very specific TBR? If you’re a mood reader, do you ever wish you could better stick to TBRs?
Do you consider yourself a mood reader?
Absolutely! I’m the worst in sticking to a TBR. Therefore I had such trouble being an official reviewer, because I had to read against a deadline amidst the books I wanted to read for myself. Therefore it more often felt like a chore than pleasant.
Are you constantly switching books and genres depending on your mood? Or do you always stick to a very specific TBR?
No, I don’t constantly switch books back and forth. However, I try to read multiple books at once so I have something to choose whenever I hit a slump with one of the books I’m reading at the moment. Therefore it could happen that I finish one book faster than the other. However, my currently reading pile gets never out of hand. I’ve tried set TBRs numerous times, but I keep failing at those. I set seasonal ones though and I manage them reasonably well. However, I’m not strict to these, if I’m not in the mood for a book that’s on the list I just skip it. I never choose a book when looking on these TBRs, I just go with the flow.
If you’re a mood reader, do you ever wish you could better stick to TBRs?
Honestly, n. Being a mood reader feels freeing without pressure on me. TBRs on the other hand give lots of pressure and therefore I don’t wish I was better in sticking to them.
That’s it! Do you consider yourself a mood reader?
