Top Ten Tuesday: Books on my Summer 2024 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

As summer is fast approaching, it’s time to decide what books I want to try to read this season. So, without further ado, my summer TBR in no particular order.

  1. Tokyo Dreaming by Emiko Jean – This book is actually perfect for the summer, so I really want to finally read it now.
  2. Just for the summer by Abby Jimenez – I found out it’s the third book in a series, but you are able to read them on their own.
  3. Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan – Yet another romance on the list.
  4. The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab – Well, this is a book I’m not particularly sure about, because I need to reread the Shades of Magic trilogy first.
  5. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – i have read this book years ago but was so confused I didn’t understand a thing about it. In August, the Dutch translation will be available, so this is a reread which I hope to finally understand.
  6. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor – And yet another reread, but for a book club. I also read this book years ago,so I wonder what I can and can’t remember.
  7. Did I mention I Need You? by Estelle Maskame – I ended up reading the first book in this trilogy years ago and surprisingly liked it. However, my tastes have changed, so let’s see where this goes.
  8. One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid – For real this time.
  9. The Chase by Elle Kennedy – I have been saying this for years though.
  10. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas – I started my Throne of Glass reread so well this year, but I haven’t continued affter Queen of Shadows.

What books are you hoping to read this summer?

  1. Wonderful list, i see a favorites there, hope yu can read them all and love them 🙂

  2. You accidentally forgot #7!! Empire of Storms is one I’d like to read eventually. In fact, I want to read the whole series–I’m way behind on it and constantly dodging spoilers haha.

    1. Oh thank you for letting me know! Fixed this 😀

  3. I never finished the Raven Boys series but now I’ve forgotten so much I don’t think I could just pick up the last book now.

I rather enjoyed One True Loves, Couldn’t decide how I wanted things to go at the end but was very pleased with what the author did.

    Happy summer reading!

  5. I didn’t know Just for the Summer was part of a series! Good to know.

  6. I haven’t read any of these. I hope you enjoy them all when you get to them!

    Happy TTT!

  7. Much to my surprise, I did really enjoy One True Loves; Emiko’s looks darling (and I own that one, too!); and I’m hearing AMAZING things about Abby’s books when I visit other websites/lists, etc. 🙂 Hope you enjoy these all, and many thanks for taking the time to visit my website today.

  8. I loved Strange the Dreamer and its follow-up book, Muse of Nightmares! I enjoyed the Raven Cycle series too, but I’m not sure I’d reread it.

  9. There are so many of these that are on my TBR! Strange the Dreamer is a great read!

I’ve never read any of V.E. Schwab’s work, but I’d like too. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

  11. A lovely list.
    Happy reading.

  13. I really need to read THREADS too and maybe the Emiko Jean as I loved her debut…

  14. I never did manage to get on with the Maggie Stiefvater. Just the sheer arrogance of appropriating Owain Glyndŵr and having him buried in America, spelling it the English way, and having him be supposed to grant wishes like he was some kind of fairytale… all of it, I just found it unbelievably gross. I know a lot of people love her work (and most people don’t care about that, or think it’s “just a story”), but I can’t stand it, no matter how much people tell me I’m missing out on an amazing story!

I’ve been meaning to give Strange the Dreamer a shot for sooo long…

  15. I love The Raven Boys <3 I actually had that issue with the 3rd and 4th books but I read it with a friend and she had no problems, so maybe it's just me.

I am also intrigued by other titles you've added. Enjoy your reads!

    Here is my list:

  17. Oooh nice picks! Quite a few new to me ones here. I hope you enjoy each and every one of them this summer!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

  18. I read and enjoyed Just For The Summer earlier this year, but I also didn’t read the first two books in the series and I did feel like I was missing something at times when characters were introduced from previous books. Hope you’ll love all of these!

This is a great list, and I love seeing so many re-reads on it. I am always wanting to re-read more, but then I get lured into mostly reading new stuff because I get distracted by all the shiny new things. lol. I enjoyed reading The Raven Boys and Fragile Threads of Power. I hope you enjoy all of these!

  20. Strange the Dreamer is such a beautiful written book, but like you, it’s been years. I can’t recall main plot points. I hope you enjoy your reread of it though.

  21. I’ve wanted to read Strange the Dreamer and The Raven Boys for quite a while now.
Hope you enjoy all these 😀

  22. The Raven Boys (and the rest of the series) is one of my favorites, so I hope you enjoy it more the second time around! I hope you love all the rest on your list too. 🙂

Nice list! I liked Strange the Dreamer but I have to admit that I barely remember what happened to the story. Maybe I should add that to my reread list. Hahaha

  24. Great list! The Raven Boys can definitely get confusing if you aren’t reading it in your first language – hopefully reading it in Dutch will help!
