WWW Wednesday | 04/24/2024

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?

What are you currently reading?

It has been quite a slow reading month for me since I have been struggling with a few books. Currently, I’m reading exactly that kind of book, I’m struggling with The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo. It gives me The Invisible Life of Addie Larue vibes regarding writing, pace and storytelling and I didn’t like that book either so yeah. Bardugo’s writing is great, but the characters fall flat to me and so does the plot. I’m just SO bored and I’m nearly at 50%. Okay well I think I have to finish now since I foudn this out right? However, I’m just not feeling it. I fell asleep a lot whilst listening to the audiobook, does that say enough?

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished two books this past week and I gave them both 2 and 2.5 stars respectively. Whoops. I also decided to soft DNF The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi, i think I’m just not in the mood for it now. The books I’ve rated 2 and 2.5 stars are Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton (review up tomorrow) and Tempting The Best Man by Jay Lynn (review will be up anytime soon).

What do you think you’ll read next?

I was supposed to read Trial of the Sun Queen by Nisha J. Tuli this month, so I think I will pick that one up.

How was your reading week?
