Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Last year I did a Backlist Books I want to Read in 2023 post and I failed miserably. Mainly because my reading preferences changed, but also because of a reading slump or books that are far more interesting than these backlist titles. So, I’m trying again this year, but definitely with different books. Let’s take a look at that huge TBR of mine and see how far I will come this year! Here are 10 books I want to get to, in no particular order. The link in the title will get you to the Goodreads page.
- Book Lovers by Emily Henry – I’ve read 2 Emily Henry books before and I enjoyed Beach Read more than People We Meet On Vacation. I’ve heard so many mixed things about this one so let’s see where this goes!
- Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett – OMG, everyone is already moving on to the sequel, but I still have to pick this one up! I wonder whether this will be something for me since cozy fantasy is a hit or miss for me.
- True Biz by Sara Noviฤ – I totally forgot I have this title in my Audible library until I saw the announcement for the Dutch version of this book. Whoops.
- Our Missing Hearts by Celeste NG – I’ve read Little Fires Everywhere years ago, but I wasn’t the biggest fan. However, I want to give this author another chance and got myself this book. But it’s not in this list for nothing right?
- Boy Queen by George Lester – I feel so ashamed, because I’ve been wanting to read this book for about 2 years now.
- The Pearl that Broke its Shell by Nadia Hashimi – And even worse, because this book has been on my TBR since 2021. I’ve read Sparks Like Stars by this author which I thought is really interesting. However, I never read anything else from her catalogue.
- The Challenger by Taran Matharu – This is the second book in the “Contender” series. I’ve read the Chosen back in 2019 but never came back. I hope I can continue this series and finish it finally!
- The Chase by Elle Kennedy – I’ve read “Off-Campus” years ago, got all the “Briar U” books, but didn’t pick them up. Well, I hope I’ll still enjoy them since my last college romance was a little disapointing. I felt so old when reading Icebreaker…
- Peach Blossom Spring by Melissa Fu – This book has made it to several blog posts already, without being read. I should change that ASAP.
- Rebel by Rebecca Yarros – I just have to finish this series, I really can do this. It’s only this bok I have left of “Renegades”. I like this series, but I just didn’t get to the final book.
Have you read any of these books?
