WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?

What are you currently reading?

I’m still reading Falling Hard for the Royal Guard by Megan Clawson and I still don’t know what to do with it. The characters have no personality at all and the entire story is just poorly crafted. However, the Tower of London is such an interesting setting since I barely know anything about it.

Furthermore, I’m still reading The Toll by Neal Shusterman but haven’t picked it up since before I contracted Covid. I’m not too sure whether this book is a good fit for me now when looking into both the real world and the world Shusterman created. Too many parallels regarding conflicts and AI. But little did he know when finishing this trilogy. Maybe I just have to soft DNF it for now.

What did you recently finish reading?

I also managed to actually finish some book. I’ve finished The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by S.A. Chakraborty, review will be up soon. Another book I’ve finished is Edward’s keuze by Marijke Vos. It’s a Dutch historical fiction that partially takes place in Scotland and where the main character is trying to get more information about her family. So, a dual time narrative and just an interesting family saga. I truly had a great time.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have a few possibilities actually:

  • Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus;
  • The Woman in Me by Britney Speas;
  • A Fire in the Flesh by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

How was your week in reading?
