WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? Since I’m a mood reader, you have to take my last W with a grane of salt though. So, let’s take a look into my 3 W’s, shall we?

What are you currently reading?

I’m still reading Thieves’ Gambit by Kayvion Lewis. I’m trying my best, but I just can’t get through this. I don’t know why, but I don’t feel any connection to it. I maybe expected too much because of the comparison to The Hunger Games. Maybe I’ll push through, but I might also DNF this book.

Furthermore, I started The Toll by Neal Shusterman. I was on the commute to work and I wanted an audiobook to listen to. I just randomly picked this from my Audible library. Unfortunately, Audible made changes to their app and now It’s impossible to track my progress anymore. Or at least, I can’t figure out how.

Last but not least, I started Things We Hide From The Light by Lucy Score. A third book? Yes, because I desperately needed a break from Thieves’ Gambit. So far, so good!

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished the Dutch translation of Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri maniscalco. Unfortunatley, this book didn’t do much for me, but I already experienced that when I read the English version. The plot is absolutely not intriguing and it suffers loads from “second book syndrome”.

Furthermore, I’ve read the Dutch book I was talking about, Hoe overleef ik alles wat ik niemand vertel? by Francine Oomen. This was pure nostalgia and I devoured it in one day. However, I struggled so much with Thieves’ Gambit that I didn’t pick up something else. Also, my weekend was too busy and I was too tired so I fell asleep on the sofa instead of reading a book.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Third try: The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by S.A. Chakraborty. Also, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
