Top Ten Tuesday: The Four Elements

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The official topic for this week is “Water”, but I found that too tough for my brain at the moment. So, I decided to tweak it a little. This weeek’s topic is “The four elements”, which are earth, wind, fire and water. Today’s list will consist of randomly picked titles. Without further ado, here’s some inspiration for you!

  • The four winds by Kristin Hannah
  • After the Fire by Maeve Kerrigan
  • Dark Water by Robert Bryndza
  • Ice like fire by Sara Raasch
  • Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  • The Water Rituals by Eva García Sáenz de Urturi
  • Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
  • On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
  • City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
  • Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste NG
  • Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan

Have you read any of these books?

  1. I like that you added in other elements too!

  2. On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous was interesting.

Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

  3. I don’t think I have read any of these though I have The Four Winds on my Kindle. Here’s my selection this week: https://portobellobookblog.com/2023/08/29/top-ten-tuesday-29th-august-2023-water-toptentuesday-tuesdaybookblog-bookrecommendations/

  4. Ooo! The four elements! That’s a fabulous twist. I’ve only read Hannah’s and Collins’s, but I’ve heard of several of the others. This also made me think of Brittainy Cherry’s Elements series. She has a book for each one. They are very good.

    1. Oh wait, I think I know that series! However, they all have “Wind” in the title here in the Netherlands, but not all are translated (yet?).

      1. Oh, they are different here. The Air He Breaths, The Fire Between Hi & Lo, The Silent Waters, and The Gravity of Us.

  5. A clever post! My Goodreads App helps me enormously for these type of prompts 😂

I have read the Cassandra Clare book. I love her stuff. I need to read more!

    Have a great week!

  8. Great idea because I struggled a little with water too! Great picks too, there’s a few on here that I’ve read/heard of, but I will definitely check the others out.
