The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings Of A Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
Oh wow, before writing this post, I ust realised I haven’t taken part in this meme for several months. The questions didn’t really suit me or I didn’t feel like writing a hop. Anyway, this week’s question is interesting.
2nd – 8th – What would the title of your autobiography be? – (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
9th – 15th – Do you still enjoy reading children’s books? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
16th – 22nd – When you write your reviews, which do you discuss more – the plot or the characters? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
23rd – 29th – What questions would you ask any author if you had the chance? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
June 30th – July 6th – What review rating system do you employ? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
Well, I try to be more relaxed than before when it comes to a review rating system. I’m quite casual, but when writing my own reviews I keep the CAWPILE structure in mind and highlight some parts of it. These are mostly characters, writing and plot (including all the stuff that comes with it e.g. intrigue, storyline, logic, world building). However, I just follow my gut when rating a book and I’m not hesitant to give out 1 stars. But only if it’s necessary. I don’t rate books I’ve DNF’ed though, that’s quite unfair in my opinion.
How about you? What review rating system do you employ?
