Wrap Up | April 2023

April has come and gone in the blink of an eye. We’ve had Easter and I ended this month with a week’s break from work. During this break, I’ve barely touched a book, but scheduled lots of blog content. The entire month was a little quiet on the reading front. Furthermore, the books I’ve read were mostly 3 stars, so quite average as well. Let’s take a look into this past month! The links in the titles lead to reviews of said book.

Read

  1. A Thousand Heartbeats by Kiera Cass: This was the first book I’ve finished this month. I’ve started it in March but just didn’t finish it in time. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the biggest fan. ***
  2. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin: This was the monthly read on a Discord server I’m in. I quite liked it, but the book is overhyped in my opinion. I suppose you’ll like it better when you’re into games as well. ***
  3. Code Name Sapphire by Pam Jenoff: I’ve read this book for an online book club which I’m actually leading. I liked it straight after I finished it, but the discussion with other readers influenced my opinion drastically. ***
  4. Vamps: Fresh Blood by Nicole Arend: This was a lovely surprise! I was a little sceptical at first, but I had a real good time reading this as it’s such an addictive story. I believe the best book of the month. ****
  5. The Switch by Beth O’Leary: And yet another book which I just quite liked. I put it aside for over a week because I just couldn’t pick it up. I wasn n’t all that intrigued by it whilst the majority seems to like it. ***
  6. Every Summer After by Carley Fortune: It’s getting a little boring, but this was another book I just quite liked. I expected to get something completely different from what I got, maybe that’s the major problem here. Also, the story goes downhill very fast. ***
