This week’s topic is a quite familiar one to many readers, buying more books than you can read. It hass been submitted by Laura @ Life Love Read.

Prompts: Do you buy a lot of books? Do you read all of the books you buy right away? Or do you buy more books than you can read? How do you choose which books you buy?

Do you buy a lot of books?

Oh yes. You can see the shameful results in my bookhauls. however, I try to buy less these days and it’s quite working I guess. I buy ebooks and they are often less pricey, but that’s changing as well. English books are still cheaper than Dutch books though. I think the fact ebooks are cheaper leads to me buying more.

Do you read all of the books you buy right away?

I wish, but again I have to answer negative. Although I’m getting better at reading my newest books quickly. Well, thinking about this, this would probably make an interesting blog series. I’ve actually seen it on other people’s blogs already, but I can always retrieve some old bookhauls and feel guilty.

Or do you buy more books than you can read?

LOL yes definitely! Sometimes I buy books only to read them after years. Only to find out they are not my taste anymore.

How do you choose which books you buy?

I’m being more selective right now, but I choose which books I want to buy by checking out whether said book sounds appealing to me. Then, I check if there is an audiobook for it. If so, I might go with that, otherwise I will buy it. When this book is available in both English and Dutch, I check the prices for both editions and also download a sample for the English version. Sometimes, a book is more complex in English than in Dutch and this way I can make up my mind.
