Wrap Up: February 2023

It’s March already, how come?! It’s slowly starting to feel like spring outside, although the mornings are still freezing cold. February was an okay month. It was short though and it went by in a breeze. I went to two concerts and I got sick. However, I managed to finish several books this month. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish my last read until this morning, which was technically March. Even though I just had a few chapters to go, it’s too much to sneak it into my February wrap up.

The books I’ve read

  1. De comeback van Tommy Roos by Cecilia Klang: This is an originally Swedish book which has been translated into Dutch. Not into English sadly. To me, it was okay but I just didn’t feel a connection. I got it as an official review copy though. ★★★ (3 stars)
  2. Stay with me by Jay Lynn: This is the third book in the “Wait For You” series Jennifer L. Armentrout wrote under her pseudonym Jay Lynn. I started in Dutch, but listened to a chunk of this book in English as I had trouble getting into it. When I did a reading sprint in English, I switched back to Dutch since I still paid for that book all those years ago. ★★★★ (4 stars)
  3. Voor verdriet heeft niemand tijd by Monica Haak: A Dutch YA about mental health, trauma, depression and suicide. Unfortunately, I had trouble with one of the main characters. I’ve listened to this on audio. ★★★ (3 stars)
  4. Gleam by Raven Kennedy: The third book in “The Plated Prisoner” series. The plot gets repetitive though and the middle part was a bit dragging. However, all the plot twists and revelations kept me on the edge of my seat. ★★★,5 (3.5 stars)
  5. The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros: I enjoyed this. However, the timeline in the past intrigued me more than the present one. Review will be up soon. ★★★★ (4 stars)
  6. Tithe by Holly Black: Oh I have so much to say about this book! And it’s no good at all. My review is in the works. ★ (1 star)
  7. Maxton Hall College by Mona Kasten: Yet another book I’ve read for an official review. However, I already owned it and fortunately I was planning to read it soon anyway. It’s not translated into English. However, I really, really enjoyed it. ★★★★ (4 stars)

Bookhaul

Actually nothing interesting for the non-Dutch speaking blogosphere as the thriller I got myself with a huge discount is a Scandinavian one and not translated into English.

Overall, I think I’ve had a really decent reading month. The books were good and the ratings were on the better side too.

How was your month?

  1. I got sick, too, and still haven’t completely recovered. I’m overall doing a lot better, though. Hope you’re feeling better now!
