The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.
I have been absent for 2 weeks with The Sunday Post and that was not without reason. After my last entry on February 5, I started to feel not well. Not sick, but not fit either. It turnt out I came down with a nasty cold including a nasty cough. No Covid, I don’t know how I haven’t contracted it these past 3 years whilst still being among people lots. I finally recovered, but now I have still a nasty cough. It’s back, but it feels like a hayfever one so it’s time to take my hayfever medicine.
In the meantime, I worked, but stayed quiet for the most part. On February 10, the long awaited new album This Is Why by Paramore got released and I’m not sure what to think about it yet. They completely moved away from their emo punk sound and I honestly miss that. Upon first listen, I felt bored and just didn’t know what to think. i should give it another listen soon I guess. This goes for the new P!nk album as well, but that’s because I haven’t had enough time to listen to it properly. I was doing chores whilst listening on Friday and that didn’t work well. Last Friday I went to a Dropkick Murphys show and that was WILD. It was so much fun! However, 3 support acts is a bit too much in my opinion. We skipped the first one (Jesse Ahern), liked the second one (The Rumjacks) and disliked the final one (Pennywise). That’s why I hope I really just have hayvfever. If it’s not better by Tuesday I’m afraid I have to get tested for Covid… I feel well, so that’s why I’m most certain it’s hayfever.
Last but not least, did you notice something on my blog yet? Yes? Good! No? Well, I got myself a custom domain and a personal WordPress plan because I got SICK of all the ads on my site and to be honest I didn’t like the .wordpress.com extention any longer. It just didn’t feel right anymore. However, I am not able to put plugins on my site (that’s only available with the ridiculously expensive Business plan) so I can’t make my site more accessible with dark mode et cetera. Let’s see how this goes and if I’m ready to get this little blog self-hosted as well by next year.
Okay, enough of the rambling, let’s take a look into my reading and blogging for the past 2 weeks.
On the shelf
I finished the following books:
- Stay with me (Wait for you #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
- Voor verdriet heeft niemand tijd by Monica Haak
- Gleam (The Plated Prisoner #3) by Raven Kennedy
I’m currently reading The Things We left Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros and Tithe by Holly Black. With the first book I’m halfway through, but unffortunately due to lack of time it’s already taking me one and a half week. The second one I just started.
