Top Ten Tuesday: New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2022

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2022, but since I’ve read many many new authors but none really made it to my favorites list, I’ve decided to change Discovered into Read. Last year was pretty busy, so I hhad the tendency to grab more books by authors I already new. However, I’ve read many new-to-me authors as I’ve stated before, but many books underwhelmed me. I still list several of them, without giving an opinion on their work.

  1. Ocean Vuong
  2. Tomasz Jedrowski
  3. Amy Spalding
  4. Rachel Lynn Solomon
  5. Tessa Bailey
  6. Amanda Foody
  7. Christine Lynn Herman
  8. Katee Robert
  9. Elena Armas
  10. Dustin Thao

Have you read anyting by said authors? What new-to-you-authors did you discover in 2022?

  1. I haven’t read anything by these authors but I do have books by a couple of them on my TBR or wish list to try. I’ve heard such good things about Katee Robert and Ocean Vuong. And Rachel Lynn Solomon and Tessa Bailey are two I’ve considered checking out but haven’t looked too much into yet. I am sorry these authors underwhelmed you. I’ll go into them with lower expectations if I do read them. I hope you read many great new-to-you authors this year! (Although, reading books by authors you already enjoy is well worth it too!) Thank you for sharing!

  2. Thank you for sharing your list, I have never heard of any of those authors but will look at some of their works to see if they are things I would like to read.

  3. I’ve read solo written books by both Amanda Foody and C.L. Herman (they go by Charlie now, in case you didn’t know). I really enjoyed Amanda Foody’s books but wasn’t so keen on The Devouring Gray which is the one I read by Christine. I have All of Us Villains on my TBR, so I’m intrigued to see whether I like it as much as Amanda Foody’s solo written books given that I didn’t love the one book I read by C.L. Herman.

    1. Ouch! I wasn’t aware of that, thank you! Will leave it be now, but will keep it in mind for next time 🙂 I read One Of Us Villains and copied it from there.
