The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received.
This week, it was my time to get my Christmas leave from work. Why? Actually I was supposed to take 1.5 week off between Christmas and New Year’s and then the first week of January, but I had to move things around a bit. Now I’m away for a while, but I brought my laptop, hence this post. I didn’t manage to read much this week, but I blogged even more. I’m not satisfied about some things on the blog however, but I can’t seem to fix them. I hate the widget block editor in WordPress with a passion. It’s becoming a hastle to update widgets because it’s easy for screen reader users to completely loose the overview using this editor. I’m loving the block editor on blog posts though. The other thing I’m not satisfied with, is the navigation menu. On phone it works fine, but it seems like the subcathegories on “Tags, Lists and Memes” are not showing on desktop. Maybe for non screenreader users, but this makes this section of my blog slightly inaccessible for people using a screen reader and therefore cannot use the mouse to navigate. Changing themes doesn’t help, because the new block site editor is a b****. So, I’m kind of unsure what to do now. Make it accessible and fun for myself or for my visitors? Furthermore, I’m so fed up of all the ads on my blog. I know how to fix this – going self-hosted with this blog too – but I’m not too sure whether I can afford that since I also have my Dutch blog self-hosted. Argh, the struggles!
On the shelf
I finished one book this week, it’s the final installment of a series which hasn’t been translated into English. I’m currently reading Pachinko by Jin Min Lee and listening to Spare by Prince Harry as an audiobook. I find myself having a hard time getting through Pachinko. Spare on the other hand has short chapters and therefore is quite easy to consume.

I never got the hang of WordPress though I started a blog there. Now it gives me trouble trying to comment on other wordpress blogs.
